Lobethal RSL Meetings
Members meet on the fourth Thursday evening of every month at 7.30 - 9PM at the Lobethal RSL Hall, 8 Wattle Street, LOBETHAL. New members and visitors welcome.Â
Want to join us for dinner prior to the meeting? We meet at the Lobethal Hotel from 6pm, and then head up to the RSL Hall for a 7.30pm meeting start.
Lobethal RSL would like to thank Klose's Supermarkets and Lobethal Hotel for the generous use of their carpark and surrounds for hosting our Anzac Day Dawn Service, as well as all the supporters who helped fund and cater the accompanying breakfast.
Over 400 attended the service, officiated by RSL President Adam Weinert and Padre Barry Fox.
Adam spoke of current challenges and threats in conflict around the world, and how they are effecting us locally. He talked about how in times such as these, community members could use the lessons of mateship forged in the spirit of Anzac during war to lean in and do altruistic and selfless acts locally to help each other during hard times.
Barry spoke of being a combat veteran from Vietnam, and how it was the mateship that got him and others through the conflict and how it has helped him since.
